Why Gardening Is A Great Way For You To Make Memories.

Growing Fresh Cut Flowers and being in the garden with kids and grandkids is a great way to create memories and experiences.

So now you know why you should start playing around with your garden. Next, I want to talk about another benefit of gardening: the memories and experiences from growing your cut flowers.

In many of the gardens I sold last year, I have heard many stories of the great memories made while growing, cutting, and sharing their flowers.

I gave my daughter her tray this year. She planted it in her corner of the garden. She watered it and weeded it. The neighbors around us were so excited and told her they wanted to buy bouquets from her as soon as her flowers were ready. We were never more proud when she cut that first bouquet and delivered it to the neighbor.

Flowers have this unique ability to bring out the giving side in people.

Many memories can be created with your garden.

You are bringing kids outside to cut flowers, whether your kids or grandkids.

It seems like so many people have memories that come from flowers.

  • “the smell of lilacs makes me think of my Grandma.”

  • “my mom always had flowers on the table.”

  • “This wonderful lady from church always blest the families in the community with flowers.”

Many memories are tied to flowers. The smells, the feelings, and the textures. This flower reminds me of winter; this flower reminds me of summer. This flower reminds me of good times, my childhood ext.

This is what I want you to do with your garden. Let go of the perfection and grow and share the memories, experiences, and love expressed through flowers.

Next time we will discuss what flowers are in the cut flower garden trays.
